Ingredients for Sheermal Roti
Flour – 1 cup
Milk – 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
Baking powder – 1 tsp
Saffron – 1/4 tsp
Desi ghee – 1/2 cup
Sugar – 1 tbsp
salt – as per taste

Sheermal Roti Recipe
To make Sheermal Roti full of taste, first of all, put refined flour in a deep bottomed utensil. Now add desi ghee, sugar and baking powder to the flour and mix everything well. Take a small bowl and prepare a solution by adding saffron and 1 spoon of hot water to it. Add this solution to the flour mixture and mix it properly. Now add cardamom powder and a pinch of salt to this mixture. After this add milk little by little and knead a soft dough.

After kneading the dough, cover it with a cloth and keep it aside for 20 minutes, so that the dough gets set properly. After the fixed time, take the dough and prepare dough balls in equal proportion. Now take a ball and roll it into a round shape. Keep in mind that the roti should remain thick. After rolling, make holes in the bread with the help of fork or toothpick. Now heat a nonstick griddle on medium heat.

After the griddle is hot, put the rolled sheermal roti on the griddle and roast it. After some time, when the roti starts puffing up from one side, turn it over and cook it from the other side. When it puffs up slightly from the other side, remove the roti from the griddle and put it on direct flame and cook till it turns golden brown from both the sides. After this, apply desi ghee on the roti. Similarly prepare all the sheermal rotis.
